Tip: This article introduces you to a few basic tools. (Learn more about the toolbars and how to customize them in the Customizing SketchUp section of the Help Center.) In macOS, you can display tool palettes by selecting View > Tool Palettes. In the Toolbars dialog box that opens, select the toolbars you want to see and click Close. To display additional toolbars, select View > Toolbars. It contains the basic tools you need to begin creating 3D models. When you begin using SketchUp, the Getting Started toolbar is the one you see by default. The menus are: SketchUp (Mac only), File, Edit, View, Camera, Draw, Tools, Window, and Help. The majority of SketchUp tools, commands, and settings are available within the menus on the menu bar. When you start SketchUp, the name of the currently open file is Untitled, indicating that you have not yet saved your work. The title bar contains the standard window controls (close, minimize, and maximize) and the name of the currently open file. When SketchUp opens, ready for you to start creating a 3D model, you see a screen that includes the following: After you become comfortable creating 3D models in SketchUp, you can create a custom template that reflects your preferences. On the menu bar, simply select Help > Welcome to SketchUp. These options are explained here.Tip: While you’re working in SketchUp, you can access the Welcome to SketchUp window anytime. Click Customize Toolbars to enable customizable options that relate to toolbars.Click Lock All Tool-panes to lock/unlock all tool-panes for toggling and resizing.Click Lock all Toolbars to lock/unlock all toolbars and menus for customization.There are three further options in the Toolbars submenu: The Page Navigation Toolbar is located in the center of the lower section of the main window and appears as below: The Launch Application Toolbar is located on the right of the Page Layout Toolbar and appears as below: The Page Layout Toolbar is located in the lower right corner of the main window and appears as below: The Document Options toolbar is located in the lower left corner of the main window and appears as below: The Standard Toolbar contains options for editing documents: The Rotate View Toolbar contains options for rotating the active document: A sample Properties Toolbar is displayed below: The appearance and options of the Properties Toolbar depend on the type of object selected. The Properties Toolbar is located beneath the Shortcut Toolbar. The Menu Toolbar contains the main menu headings and provides links to their respective menu options: The Measurement Toolbar contains options for measuring specific elements of the active document: The Form Toolbar contains options for adding/editing forms: The File Toolbar contains options for navigating, creating, opening and saving documents: The Content Editing Toolbar contains options for editing the content: The Commenting Toolbar contains options for adding/editing comments: This toolbar is composed of several toolbars: The Shortcut Toolbar is located at the top of the main window: PDF-XChange Editor Main Window, File Toolbar RepositionedĪ breakdown of all toolbars within PDF-XChange Editor is detailed below: For example in (figure 3) the File Toolbar has been repositioned to the lower part of the workspace:įigure 3. This indicates that the toolbar can be added to the interface. If toolbars are dragged over specific areas in the PDF-XChange workspace then the icon beneath the pointer will change.
(Please note that the Document Toolbars, located on the lower section of the main window, have reduced repositioning options in comparison to the other toolbars). Click and drag to detach and move toolbars. The pointer will change to a four-way arrow. Hover the pointer over the dotted area above arrow icons to reposition toolbars.Click the arrow icon to expand/collapse toolbars.There are two icons on the left of each toolbar:.Select/clear the boxes detailed in (figure 1) to show/hide the respective toolbars.The toolbars in PDF-XChange Editor provide a convenient way to access the features and functions of the application.Hover over Toolbars to determine toolbar settings:
